Obituary of Nicholas Carl Calvano

Nicholas “Nick” Carl Calvano, age 91, of Millcreek Twp., passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2016 at his residence. He was born in Erie on March 7, 1924, the son of the late Joseph and Esther Caserta Calvano. Nick was employed at BF Moving and Storage and Milano/ Clark Construction Co. He was a member of Local W. PA Teamsters Union 397. Nick enjoyed baseball, watching football and golf on TV and Indiana basketball. He was preceded in death by his former wife Ethel Calvano, two sisters; Francis Perilla and Mary Calvano and one nephew Roger Perilla. Nick is survived by two daughters; Carole L. Jones (H.K. “Butch”) of Wattsburg, Sharon A. Downey (The Very Rev. Dr. John) of Erie, one grandson Dennis D. Jones of Erie and several nieces and nephews. Per Nick’s request all services and burial (Laurel Hill) will be private under the direction of the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
