Obituary of Emelia Melinda Tuholski

Please share a memory of Emelia to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Emelia Melinda, “Millie”, aka, Evelyn “Chilelli” Tuholski, 95, of Erie, died at Fairview Manor after a short illness while residing there for a few years. Millie was a “one-of-a-kind”, who enjoyed life and had to try everything at least once. Anyone who knew her couldn’t help but smile; listening to stories about her youth. Her love for her father and helping him in his greenhouse and garden; raising tomato and peppers for family, friends, and the neighborhood on East 2nd Street. She loved to cook her Italian dishes; using that “good stuff”, garlic. She would use garlic in everything! She won a few medals in roller skating, swimming and miles walked, and would polish-up a dance floor with her Polka moves. She couldn’t just sit, “gotta keep moving”! Millie was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 69 years, Alfred “Fred” Tuholski in 2012. Millie and Fred were a couple who did everything together. They loved fishing, traveling, and most of all, Bluegrass Music. They made many friends in their bluegrass circle, “Forest Circle”, of Kittanning, PA. They also spent many hours together at the “Y” on Nagle Rd. While Millie was doing her walking, Fred would wait for her working out on one of the machines. She was also preceded in death by her parents Vincenzo and Maria Teresa “Filippo” Chilelli, brothers; John Chile and Edward Chilelli, sisters; Mary Richards, Elizabeth DeAngelo, and Lena Longo, and a son-in-law Richard Gloskey. Millie is survived by a sister Anne Bandecca of Erie, one daughter Mary Margaret Gloskey of Girard, a son Frederick Tuholski (Elaine) of Erie, four grandsons: Robert Gloskey, Brian Gloskey both of Girard, Steve Tuholski (Donna), James Tuholski (Heather) both of Erie, great-grandchildren: Nicole and Heather Gloskey of Girard, Nicholas, Stefanie, Katlyn, and Brooke Tuholski all of Erie. The family would like to thank the administration and staff at Fairview Manor for their kindness and thoughtfulness in the excellent care given to Millie. It truly is a “family” of caregivers. Thank you everyone! There will be no calling hours or service per Millie’s wishes. Her cremains will be laid to rest on the Gloskey Farm under the red maple tree with the love of her life. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd., Erie, PA 16506.
