Obituary of Evelyn Dorothy Wright

Evelyn Dorothy Schermer Wright, age 90, of Millcreek Twp., passed away peacefully at St. Mary’s Asbury Ridge on Thursday, June 30, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Erie on May 9, 1926, the daughter of the late William E. and Dorothy Gardner Schermer. She was a graduate of Millcreek High School and retired from Erie Insurance. She was a member of Wayside Presbyterian Church and loved to garden, crochet, bake and cook, and being with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband Russell Wright, two sisters; Mildred Martz (Walter), infant Edna Mae Schermer, two brothers; George (Elaine) and Charles (Irma) Schermer, one sister-in-law Dorothy Wagner, one brother-in-law Robert Wright, one niece Lynda Bartone Kerlin, two nephews; Bruce Schermer and Michael Schermer. She is survived by three daughters: Janet M. Kyle (James), Jeanne L. Head (James), Joyce A. Wheaton (David), one son James R. Wright (Julie), nine grandchildren: Jennifer, Brian, Becca, Dan, Christopher, Kevin, Kaitlyn, Michael, and Eric, five great-grandchildren: Kayla, Emma, Sadie, Joshua, Lauren, two sisters-in-law; Barbara Wright, Diane Whalen, and many beloved nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Tuesday, July 5, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. until time of service there at 7:00 p.m. Private interment.
