Maxine “Max” Helen Russell Heinze, age 89, passed away Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at the Sarah A. Reed Retirement Center. Max was born on June 2, 1927 in Bennington, KS, the daughter of the late Charles Henry and Martha Meirose Russell. She formerly lived in West Lafayette, IN and Hot Springs Village, AR. She was a graduate of Abilene, Kansas High School and Kansas State University. She was employed for many years as office manager for her husband’s veterinary practice in Iowa and Indiana. Maxine enjoyed playing the piano, reading, traveling/sightseeing, dancing, fishing, volunteer work, and downhill skiing. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister Evelyn Russell Wormser. She is survived by her husband Charles David Heinze, her children; Korryn Fairman (Randall), David Heinze (Lisa), Theresa Fryer (Marshall), her grandchildren: Chad Heinze, Cameron Heinze, Marisa Fryer, step-grandson Michael Fairman, and step-great grandchildren; Jack and Elizabeth Grace Fairman. Private services were under the guidance of the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. Erie, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Erie Zoological Society, 423 West 38th Street, Erie, PA 16508, or to the Northwest PA Humane Society, 2407 Zimmerly Road, Erie, PA 16506.
