Obituary of Jorge Penalvert

After dealing for years with debilitating health issues resulting from serious injuries sustained in an automobile accident, we lost our Dear Friend, Son, Brother, Nephew, Uncle, and Cousin on Tuesday July 5th to a stroke. Jorge’s passing came suddenly and unexpectedly at his home on 2612 West 23rd Street, Erie where he had lived his entire life. Jorge was just 48 years old and lived there with his Mother, Dorma and recently deceased stepfather, Richard (Scotty) Scott. Jorge is also the Son of Jorge Penalvert of Kissimmee, FL. Earlier in his life, when not writing poetry & memorizing our U.S. Presidents, Jorge worked at area plastics shops and many knew him from his more recent 13 years at Giant Eagle, Yorktown. He very much enjoyed his time and frequent visits to Eat’n Park and was never without his coffee at the Country Fair on Peninsula Drive just down the street from home. From there he quietly observed life around him & all it had to offer. Oh Jorge, you will be missed…….. Jorge never married or had children, but had several true & trusted friends including Betsy from Eat’n Park, Jody his Uncle who was more like a Brother and his good Country Fair Buddy Jim. In addition to his Mother and Father, Jorge is survived by his sister Laura Atkins (Tom), brother Steve Penalvert (Sally) both of Erie, brother Mike Penalvert (Hope) of Ridgeway, brother Richey Scott of Warren, OH, six step-sisters (Missy, Vonny, Angie, Cheri, Collette, and Nita), and eight half-brothers & sisters (Brenda, Jesus, Joel, Luis, Wanda, Josue, Angel, Jorge). Jorge was pre-deceased by one half-sister, Migdalia. A service of recognition & remembrance will be held for friends & family Sunday, July 10th from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Road. Private interment to follow. Memorials can be offered as Family & Friends see fit.
