Elva Stauffer Young, 93 years old, longtime resident of Lawrence Park, entered heaven on Sunday, October 2, 2016. She was born in East Greenville, PA on June 4, 1923 to the late Frances and Susan Stauffer. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Carl Richard Young, and her siblings Glenna Baumgart and Blanche Coyle. She is survived by her three children, James (Phyllis) of Gainesville, Susan (Richard) Fischer of Erie, and Rebecca (Richard) Williamson of Ormond Beach; grandchildren, Kimberly, Kerry, Brian, Jason, Kaitlyn, Amy, Laura, Chelsea and Richard; and 14 great-grandchildren. A devoted Christian, Elva enjoyed Bible study with friends, cooking, gardening, making quilts and feeding wild birds. She and her husband built North East Bowling Lanes. She was a loving Mother and Nana. Her kindness will live on in the hearts of her family. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Road on Saturday from 12 noon until the time of the Funeral Service at 2 pm. Interment, Laurel Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 1645 West 8th Street, Erie, PA 16505.
