Efthimios “Themos” C. Farantzos, age 85, of Millcreek Twp., passed away on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at St. Vincent Hospital following a brief illness. He was born in Lamia, Greece on October 10, 1931, a son of the late Christos E. and Athena Farantzos.
He arrived in the United States in 1962 and attended school in South Carolina. He received his PhD in economics while in St. Louis and taught at the collegiate level at Allegheny College and Gannon University. He then became the owner and operator of Erie Instant Printing.
He was preceded in death by one brother Efstathios Farantzos and his former wife Elfriede
He is survived by two sons, Chris F. Farantzos and George E. (Debra) Farantzos all of Millcreek Twp.; four grandchildren Erin, Josh, Alex and Anna and his longtime companion Gloria Vignolo.
Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home & Crematory Inc. 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 from 5:00 PM until the time of the Trisagion Service at 6:30 PM. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
