Obituary of Sebastian James Hartland

Sebastian James Hartland, age 26 of Erie, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on November 13, 2016 in Columbia, South Carolina. He was born in Erie on August 3, 1990, a beloved son of Deborah (Gerald Grasso) Hartland and James Taylor. Sebastian attended Girard High School as a freshman and later graduated from Strong Vincent High School in 2009. He played varsity football all four years of high school and was a great athlete excelling in hockey, baseball and wrestling. Sebastian was a loyal Dallas Cowboys fan “we dem boys”. He had a very strong work ethic and was currently employed with the Lindau Chemical Company in Columbia, SC. Sebastian was an amazing father and loved his family, “to infinity and beyond”. No words can express the love his mother had for him, he will be so terribly missed. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Valerie “Nana” Hartland. In addition to his parents he is survived by three children, Dasai Hartland of Erie, Sebastian James Hartland Jr. and Bella ValaRay Hartland of Columbia, SC; three siblings, Sara Hartland, Spencer Hartland and Sheffield Grasso all of Erie; maternal grandfather, Trevor (Mary Jo) Hartland of Murrells Inlet, SC; paternal grandmother, Annie Volk of Erie; his longtime girlfriend Michelle Ledesma of Columbia, SC; two nieces Melody and Madelyn; uncle, David (Danielle) Hartland of Erie and an aunt Diana (John) Pytlarz of Lake City. Sebastian is further survived by his best friend Victor Ruiz, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and longtime family friend, Elizabeth Crandell. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home & Crematory Inc. 4216 Sterrettania Rd., on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Funeral services will be held on Friday morning at 10:00 AM at Grace Church 7900 Grubb Rd. McKean, PA, interment will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
