Obituary of William M. Schneider

William M. Schneider, age 79, of Millcreek Twp. passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 31, 2017. He was born in Erie on September 20, 1937, son of the late Francis and Carolyn Bauman Schneider. Bill attended St. Mary’s Elementary School and graduated from Cathedral Prep in 1955. He then served in the U.S. Air Force. Following his service, Bill worked for Koehler Beer, Perry Ship Building, and then retired from the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board. He was a member of St. Jude R.C. Church, The Sunflower Club, and ACBL. Bill worked Bingo at St. Mary’s for many years and was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, The Erie Blind Center, and served as a Eucharistic minister. He was an avid card player and enjoyed bowling and golf. Bill is survived by his wife of thirty years, Claudia Schneider, one brother, Tom Schneider (Patt), one sister, Doris Bednarski; his in-laws, John Sayers, Heidi, Rev. Dan, Dennis (Judy), Mary Ann, Patrick, Douglas (Sherry) Arnold, and Christine Green (Norm), and numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his twin brother, Jack, and his sister, Mary Sayers. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Road on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend the Prayer Service on Saturday at 10:15 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Jude R.C.
