Obituary of Mary Ellen Bujnoski

On January 31, 2017, our angel Mary Ellen went to be with her Lord. Mary Ellen, 47 years old passed away peacefully at her home. She was the daughter of Joyce and the late William Bujnoski, sister of Amy (Richard) Beckman and Karrie (Gerald) Wagner, aunt of Caroline (fiancée Max), Alex, Gerry, Jack and Lauren, granddaughter of Martha Leszek, niece of many loving aunts, uncles and cousins. Mary Ellen graduated from Academy High School, she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from Mercyhurst University in 1992. After graduating she worked at Hamot Hospital as a social worker. Mary Ellen went on to write grants for the local homeless shelters. She was a member of Church Women United and managed the annual Christmas stocking drive for patients at North Warren Hospital. Mary Ellen served many countless hours in fundraising and volunteering for other local charities and groups. She accomplished all this believing she was not handicapped or disabled, even though she was born with Muscular Dystrophy and in a wheelchair since the age of six. Mary Ellen was an avid Celtics fan, she enjoyed a good game of Scrabble anytime and a road-trip anywhere the path led. Mary Ellen loved working on her computer always looking for bargains with her faithful dog Chloe at her side. Words cannot describe how much she was loved and how much she will be missed. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home & Crematory Inc. 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday afternoon at 1:00 PM at St. Jude Roman Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to one of her favorite charities, The Neighborhood Art House 201 East 10th St. Erie, PA 16503 or Emmaus Soup Kitchen 218 East 11th St. Erie, PA 16503.
