John D. Paris, Jr. John D. Paris, Jr., age 71, of Erie, passed away on Wednesday, April 19, 2017. He was born in Erie on April 20, 1945, the son of the late John D. and Kathryn M. Spadea Paris, Sr. He graduated from Academy H.S. and served in the US Marine Corp during the Vietnam War. He was employed at and retired from Erie GE. He enjoyed cooking and was known for his fabulous tomato sauce, bowling, dancing, and taking care of his pets. John was preceded in death by Catherine Niejelski Paris Brandt, one son John D. Paris, III, two brothers Anthony and Richard Paris, and two sisters; Rita Paris Schubert and Marilyn del Solar. He is survived by two sons; Thomas C. Paris (Lisa), Robert Brandt (Jen), one daughter Gina Paris Skitka Schneppner (Dave), three sisters: Rosalie Sustak (Tom), Carolyn Niejelski (Richard), Elaine Paris, eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, a best friend Richard Harayda and his daughter Michele. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Saturday, April 22, 2017 (TODAY) from 11:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Service at 1:00 p.m. Private interment Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
