Paul G. Gorniak

Paul G. Gorniak, age 62, of Edinboro, passed away on Sunday, April 23, 2017 at St. Vincent Hospital, surrounded by his loving family after a brief illness.  He was born on February 1, 1955 in Erie, the son of Delphin H. Wasielewski Gorniak of Erie and the late Walter R. Gorniak.  Paul was a graduate of Cathedral Prep and Mercyhurst College and was employed at Lord Mfg.

He was a life-time member of the St. Francis Usher Club and VFW Post 740 in Edinboro.  He was an avid Steelers fan and enjoyed golfing and fishing (especially ice fishing).

Besides his father, he was preceded in death by one sister Marlene Kern and one brother David Gorniak.  Paul is survived by his mother, his beloved wife “bride” Doreen F. Weber Gorniak, two sons; Christopher Gorniak (Julie Bilotti) of McKean, Joel Gorniak (Lei) of Hawaii, three grandchildren; Jaiden, Kailani, and Jordan Gorniak, one sister Mary Ann Biernik (Joe Chromik) of Erie, one brother Dr. Gary Gorniak (Jo Ellen) of FL, brothers and sisters-in-law, one aunt Bertha Schultz of Erie, and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Friday, April 28, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. until time of Service there at 6:00 p.m.  Private interment.  Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
