Daniel M. Rennie

Daniel was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut, son of the late Raymond and Edna (Massie) Rennie. He peacefully passed away on Friday May 26, 2017 at his residence surrounded by his friends and family.

The family moved to Erie, PA where Dan attended St. Peter Elementary School and graduated from Cathedral Preparatory School in 1967. He graduated from Penn State University in 1971 with a degree in aerospace engineering. Dan completed his Master’s degree in computer science at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana.

Dan worked for Erie Insurance Group in various capacities throughout the years. He also owned his own insurance agency in Spartansburg, PA for several years before moving with his family to work for Erie Insurance in the state of Indiana. 

Dan is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Kathleen Stoneburner Rennie, two daughters, Michelle Rennie (Danyell Walker) of Seattle, WA, Holly Ross (Brian) of Noblesville, IN and a son, Patrick Rennie of Erie; granddaughters Ella and Erin Ross. He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law Diane and Les Miller, his niece and nephew Jackie Kope (Randy), Justin (Jen) Miller and their families. He also leaves behind dear friends Linda Stano, Dave and Diane Nowak, and Dave and Diane Smith.

Daniel’s family would like to thank Regional Home Health for the wonderful care provided to him during his final illness.

Family and friends are invited to call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Road, Erie, PA  16506 on Friday, June 2, 2017 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A memorial service will be conducted by Pastor Michael Kuvshinikov at 7:00 pm at the funeral home. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Barber National Institute, 100 Barber Place, Erie, PA 16508, or to the charity of one’s choice.
