Obituary of Barbara Ann Mack

Barbara Ann Mack, age 87, passed away Monday, July 24, 2017 at UPMC-Hamot surrounded by her family.  She was born to the late Robert William Brogan and Ann Bell McAdoo on December 5, 1929 in Brookville, PA.

 

She graduated from Academy High School, received her LPN with meds certification and worked as an orthopedic nurse at Hamot Hospital, where she retired from.  She had also worked at Kroger’s as a cashier.

Barbara was a very active member of St. Mary’s Club, Elks Club, and the V.F.W. Post 470, where she proudly served as an Honor Guard.

 

In addition to her late husband, Francis Mack, she was preceded in death by two sons, James J. Mack and John J. Mack and two sisters, Patricia Karkosky and Joan L. Sahovey. 

 

She is survived by her children, Robert Brogan (Carol), Cheryl Goetz (Martin), Tim Mack (Sheila) of Erie, PA and Penelope Gaston of Los Angeles, CA.  She is further survived by five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, one sister, Patricia French (Ken) of Brenham, TX, and two sisters-in-law, Evelyn Mack of Antelope, CA and Mary Jane Baney of Erie, PA.

 

Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd., on Wednesday July 26, 2017 from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM and are invited to a prayer service at the funeral home on Thursday morning at 11:00 AM.  Interment will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery.

 

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Emmaus Ministries, 345 East 9th. St. Erie, PA 16503, or the charity of one’s choice.
