Judith Ann Young Keeney

Judith Ann Young Keeney, age 74, of Cornelius, NC, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2017 in Huntersville, NC.

Judith was born in Erie to Donald Young and Betty Killmaier Young on February 28, 1943.  She went to McDowell H.S. and graduated in 1961.  Judie’s early career was in nursing then later in life she owned and operated Manhattan Deli (Richmond, VA) and Central Park Deli (Chester, VA) with her late husband, Franklin Keeney.  She enjoyed the daily grind of the restaurant business until she and Frank retired in 1964.

Judie is survived by her two daughters; Shawn Keeney and Kelly Bescher, her sister Dianna Murray, grandchildren; Madison and Sara Fulkerson, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and loved ones.  She was preceded in death by her husband Franklin Keeney, one brother Robert Young, her mother Betty Killmaier, and her father Donald Young.

Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd., on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Service there at 11:00 a.m. officiated by  Roger Scarlett.  Interment Laurel Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Levine and Dickson Hospice House, 11900 Vanstory Dr., Huntersville, NC 28078.  The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the wonderful and caring staff who took such great care of Judie during her final moments.
