Mary Megan Hollenbeck Mary Megan Hollenbeck, age 84, formerly of Glenwood Towers, suffered a stroke on February 9 at St. Vincent Health Center and was lovingly cared for at ForestView until the time of her death on April 18, 2007. She was born on March 9, 1923 in Kulpmont, PA, the daughter of the late William Charles Madara and Catherine Brennan. She was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Susan Annette, a son, Clifford John, and a grandson, Stephen Paul Danowski II. Her brothers, William and Albert Madara, also preceded her in death. Mary is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Ann Danowski and her husband, Steve, her son, William Alan Hollenbeck and his wife Susan, and daughter-in-law, Nancy Hollenbeck, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Mary was well respected for her caring and generous personality and her community involvement. She spent a lifetime doing volunteer work, including a Red Jacket at St. Vincent Health Center, for 27 years. Most recently she was active at the Erie Playhouse, she served as President of the Miracle Mile Seniors, was Queen Mother of the Crimson Chapeaus, and organized her friends into numerous card clubs and a birthday club. Mary was exceptionally proud that her granddaughter, Melissa Danowski, had recently joined the Erie Playhouse Wing to make three generations of volunteers. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Thursday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to St. George R.C. Church on Friday for visitation from 11:00 a.m. until the time of a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 noon. Memorial contributions may be made to the Erie Community Foundation, 127 West 6th St., Erie, PA 16501.
