Frances Leona Bernard Manchester, age 83 of Millcreek Twp., passed away at home, surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday March 9, 2021. She was born in Akron, Ohio on April 27, 1937, a daughter of the late, Martin John Bernard and Florence (Conahan) Bernard Weber. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Nancy (Nick) Volgares, Maria Weber and Martin John Bernard.
Frances worked as a clerk for Roadway Express, this is where she met the love of her life, Edwin Madison Manchester Jr., whom she married on May 4, 1957. They moved to Millcreek Twp. in 1977, where they were members in multiple golf leagues at Lake Shore Country Club for 32 years. She was a longtime member of St. Julia Roman Catholic Church, where Edwin and Marie serve as Eucharistic Ministers. Frances loved to sew, crochet, decorate and also golfed and bowled on many different leagues.
In addition to her husband of 63 years, Edwin Madison Manchester Jr, she is survived by their children, Marie Manchester Conrad, Robert (Denise) Manchester, Victoria (Keith) Ryan and Donna (Phil) Sorensen; grandchildren, Jason, Jessica, Neil, Cameron, Alaina, Madison, Josh, Brandon, Evelyn, Philip and Michael; great-grandchildren, Olivia, Impulae, Chloe, Addison, Pypar, Tyra, Dylan, Morgan, Taylor, Jack, Logan, Hailey and Easton; and great-great-grandchildren, Bohdi and Ava.
The family would like to express heartfelt gratitude to Family Hospice and Dr. Robert Geiger for the compassionate care and support provided to mother and the family. A special thank you to Tom and Kathleen.
Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home & Crematory Inc. 4216 Sterrettania Rd. Erie, PA 16506, on Sunday March 14, 2021 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM and are invited to a Funeral Mass on Monday at 10:00 AM on March 15, 2021 at St. Julia Roman Catholic Church 638 Roslyn Ave. Erie, PA 16505. All CDC Covid-19 guidelines will be enforced. Interment will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
