James A. Taraski
James A. Taraski, age 83, of Erie, passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at St Vincent Hospital surrounded by his wife and children at his side.
Jim was born on October 27, 1940, the son of the late Walter J. and Alberta Weaver Taraski.
Jim was proud to have served aboard the USS Kitty Hawk. He was also a die-hard Notre Dame football fan.
He is survived by his beloved wife Karen Schade Taraski, his five children: Heidi Taraski, Troy Taraski (Melissa), Holly Taraski (Tom Torrance), Corry Taraski (Megan), Gene Horne (Shannon) of FL, thirteen grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and one sister Jodie Kalista.
Private arrangement were handled by the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Second Harvest Food Bank, 1507 Grimm Drive, Erie, PA 16501 or to Emmaus Ministries, 2183 East 11th Street, Erie, PA 16503.
