Kathleen Ann “Kay” Rogers Anderson Hauber Kathleen Ann “Kay” (Rogers) Anderson Hauber, age 84, of Millcreek, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Sunday, August 18, 2024. Kathleen Ann Rogers was born in Erie on September 4, 1939, a daughter of Joseph Rogers and Frances Anderson. She was the stepdaughter of Willam Anderson. Kay was raised for a time by her grandparents, Jesse and Gladys Garber, whom she truly loved. Kay grew up on Erie’s East side and was a proud 1958 graduate of Villa Maria Academy. Kay worked after school at East Erie Pharmacy, she loved recalling her job as a soda jerk, where she had a daily snack of “chips and a chocolate soda for $0.15”. Kay married the love of her life, John Thomas “Tom” Hauber in June 1965. They made their home in Millcreek where they raised a loving family of four children. Kay worked as a teller for Lord and AMSCO Credit Unions, jobs she thoroughly enjoyed. Kay was an accomplished and talented watercolor artist. She loved traveling and being with her family. Kay enjoyed taking rides around Presque Isle, rooting on her Cleveland Guardians, and on special occasions, sipping her favorite beer, Stella Artois. While Kay had many accomplishments, her primary focus later in life was caring for her beloved Tom after his stroke. Kay was his excellent caregiver for almost 22 years and her family will be forever grateful of her strength and commitment. KK’s family will miss her forever. Kay moved to St. Mary’s at Asbury Ridge retirement community in 2022, where she quickly assimilated making friends with residents and the staff alike. She just recently had a wonderful day enjoying the talents of an Elvis impersonator. She particularly enjoyed displaying her artistic talent (with paintings featured on St. Mary’s Christmas card and on the cover of the monthly magazine). In addition to her parents, Kay was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 53 years, John T. Hauber; in-laws: Albert and Vera Hauber; sister: Patricia Heubel; and brothers-in-law: James Heubel and Harold Patterson. Kay is survived by her loving children and their spouses (and their families) whom she loved and cherished as her own: Ann Piechocki (Luke), Patricia Lewis (Gordon), Christopher Hauber (Suzanne), and Erin Hauber; adored grandchildren: Caleb (Megan), Aidan, Trent, Genevieve, Natalie Kay, and Bella Kay; cherished great grandchildren: Ashton and Claire; one brother: Jerome Anderson; two sisters- in- law: Marilyn Patterson and Carol Anderson; as well as many nieces and nephews, friends, and longtime West 25th Street neighbors. Family and friends are warmly invited to call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home, 4216 Sterrettania R., Erie on Friday, August 23, 2024 from 4 pm to 8 pm.
