William “Bill” Skadhauge
William “Bill” Skadhauge, age 68, of Fairview Twp., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at Fairview Manor where he was a resident for five months. He battled dementia for many years. Bill worked at Meadowbrook/Deans Dairy driving tractor trailer for 30 years. He also worked at Pepsi and Glenwood Beer. He was a black belt in Goshen Jitsu Karate and he loved to hunt. He loved his dogs, playing his guitar and he loved to eat, but most of all he loved his family.
He was happiest when he was surrounded by them. Bill was a humble, gentle, and kind man.
If you crossed paths with him, he would greet you with a hand shake or a nod of his head.
If you were lucky, he would stop and talk with you for a while.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Darlene, two sisters; Sherry Skadhauge, Deborah Shadeck (Russell), one brother Scott Skadhauge (Kimberly) all from Erie. He is also survived by his daughter Christine Rhodes (Doug) from Fairview and his son Michael Riley (Terri) from Pittsburgh, three grandchildren; Aubrey Riley and Anthony Riley (Mae) both from Pittsburgh and Jessie Rhodes from Fairview.
He is also survived by his great-grandson Jackson Anthony Riley and his great-granddaughter Sophia Mae Riley who is due to come into this world in March.
Bill is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to call on Friday, February 21, 2025 from 3 pm until 7 pm at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. and are invited to Our Lady of Peace R.C. Church, 2401 West 38th Street, Erie, PA on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at 10 am. for the Funeral Mass officiated by Father Dan Hoffman.
The family wants to express their deepest gratitude to the staff at Fairview Manor, Dogwood Drive (D-Hall) for all that they did for Bill. They took amazing care of him every day. They made him laugh and he did the same for them, but most of all they loved him.
