Florence Valere Sigmond Gourley
Valere Gourley, age 94, of Erie, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at St. Vincent Hospital with her loving family at her side. She was born in Erie on March 12, 1930, the daughter of the late Stephen A. and Florence M. Postas Sigmond.
She was a medical transcriber working at a hospital and later for Drs. Dominick Brasille and Leo Swantek.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Gourley, one sister Elaine McLaughlin, one brother Ronald Sigmond, and one daughter-in-law Kathryn Barrett.
She is survived by one sister Marilyn Francis, three sons: Patrick J. Gourley (Colleen) of Millcreek Twp., Keith D. Gourley of Chatham, MA, Scott S. Gourley (Kathi) of Erie, four grandchildren: Meghan Gourley (Kris), Meredith Reininger (Mason), Katelyn Ballew (Owen), Aaron Wilson, two great-grandchildren; Eli and Artie.
Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Thursday, March 6, 2025 from 12 Noon until the time of the Funeral Service at 2:30 pm. Interment Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Millcreek Food Pantry, 3642 West 26th St., Erie, PA 16506.
