Obituary of Edward J. Vollmer, Jr.

Edward J. Vollmer, Jr. Edward J. Vollmer, Jr., age 80, of Millcreek Twp., passed away on Sunday, March 9, 2025, at UPMC-Hamot. He was born in Erie on March 21, 1944, the son of the late Nancy (Bogacki) Vollmer and Edward J. Vollmer, Sr. Edward was a cherished member of the Barber National Institute community. Over the years, he worked in building 101 and enjoyed his later years at the Lakeshore Senior Ctr. He loved going on adventures with his niece Krista and nephew-in-law Pete, along with their family. He had a profound love for the outdoors, often spending time catching bugs in his jar and camping, a hobby which brought him immense joy. He is survived by his sister, Patricia Helgesen (Arne) and his niece and nephews: Krista Ambrose, Robert Ambrose, Scott Ambrose, Kevin Ambrose, and many others. He also leaves behind his great- niece and nephews: Caitlin Ambrose, Conner Anuszkiewicz, Brett Ambrose, and great- great nephew Greyson Ambrose. Edward was preceded in death by his parents and a loving sister Anne (Vollmer) Ambrose. A visitation will be held at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd on Thursday, March 13, 2025 from 4 pm until 7 pm. Private burial at Calvary Cemetery.
