GEORGE MICHAEL ZEHNER, JR

Age 88 Erie, PA

With sad hearts, we share the passing of George M. Zehner, Jr. on Monday, March 24, 2025, at St. Vincent Hospital. George had suffered with several health issues for the past year. He was born in Erie on May 24, 1936, to George Zehner, Sr. and Carmella Bongiorno Zehner. He was a lifelong resident of this city.

George was President of General Partitions Manufacturing where he was employed for 57 years. In his free time, he loved fishing, bowling, cards, and especially golf. George had acquired two holes in one earning him the title of “Double Ace”. He was very involved in his son’s and grandsons’ lives. They enjoyed all his favorite hobbies with him and have wonderful memories of all those shared times. In turn, he attended all their school events and sport activities. The entire family enjoyed playing board games together and convening in his game room for billiards and table tennis.

He and his wife Elizabeth “Betty” Zehner, had a long and loving marriage for 64 years until her passing in 2020. George is survived by his son Michael Joseph Zehner (Andrea), two grandchildren Matthew Zehner (Stephanie), Jordan Zehner, and two great grandchildren; Brooks and Cole. He is also survived by his dear brother Joseph Zehner (Karen), several nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are being handled by the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.

A private memorial service will be held.
