Obituary of Francis "Shelly" Czulewicz

Francis “Shelly” Czulewicz Angels carried the soul of Francis “Shelly” Czulewicz to his heavenly home to be cherished throughout eternity on Friday, April 25, 2025. He was born October 3, 1934, the son of the late Frank J and Helen M Czulewicz. He graduated from Saint Stanislaus grade school, Tech Memorial High School, and took numerous engineering classes at Gannon University. Shelly enlisted in the United States Navy and gave 13 years of his life in support of his country, both active duty and reserves. He was in the repair division, tool maker aboard USS Everett F. Larsen DDR 830. Following his retirement, he spent 25 years as a volunteer at the VA Medical Center in Erie. Shelly built his career in the industry of Tool & Die and Plastics Engineering. He was the original founding president of Tool-All, Inc., Accu-Form Inc., Precise Plastics, Accumatic Inc., and Encore Precision Enterprises. He was a consultant and mentor in the development of the Plastics Engineering Technology program at Penn State Behrend. On May 17, 1958, he married Shirley Ann Walsh. Shirley was not only his wife, life partner, and best friend, she was an avid supporter and was actively beside him in the achievement of every goal. They shared 67 years of marriage. Shelly And Shirley were blessed with two beautiful children, Laura Lynn, and Roger Allen. Shelly was a wonderful loving father who participated in their lives. Shelly was a lifelong member of the Society of Plastics Engineers. He served as board member, president, and was chosen as Member Of The Year. He was a longtime member of the Kahkwa Club, and lifetime member of the former Maennerchor Club. Shelly served in many roles in social and military organizations. He was a generous supporter of the Pennsylvania State Police Gifts for Children program, Hamot Health Foundation, McGee Women’s Hospital, and Penn State Behrend Engineering Scholarship Program. He served multiple roles in the Knights of Columbus, Saint Jude Chapter. Shelly was preceded in death by his son Roger, his parents, sister Anne, his mother-in-law, whom he loved dearly, and many relatives and dear friends. Shelly is survived by his loving wife Shirley of 67 years, his daughter, Dr Laura C Reese, son-in-law, The Honorable Scott T. Reese, and granddaughters Hannah Lynn and Katerina Taylor Reese. He is also survived by his brother Anthony “Tony“ Czulewicz, sisters-in-law; Terry Dodson and Doris Walsh, as well as many dear nieces, nephews, and friends who loved him. Friends may call on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, from 3 to 7 PM at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Peace Church, 2401 W. 38th St. on Thursday, May 1, 2025 at 10 AM. Final resting place, Gate of Heaven Cemetery Mausoleum, with military honors. A celebration of life will be held immediately to follow for family and friends at the Kahkwa Club.
