Mary Benz Nemenz passed away peacefully on Monday, May 12 ,2025, at St. Mary’s at Asbury Ridge.

Mary was born on July 4, 1929, the daughter of the late Carl and Bertha Heck Benz. She grew up in Erie and was a 1947 graduate of Academy H.S. where she was the head majorette.

She was a homemaker who enjoyed family time and a close group of friends. Her grandchildren were a source of joy for her at every stage of their lives. She was a lifetime member of the Siebenbuerger Club where she enjoyed bowling with her husband and friends. Her other hobbies included reading, crocheting, and quilting.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Carl Nemenz, one son Raymond Nemenz, two brothers; Charles and Richard Benz, and three sisters: Millie Benz, Ruth Whitman, and Dorothy Smith.

She is survived by her son Randy Nemenz (Pat), her daughter Laure Sieber (Don), her grandchildren: Brandon Sieber (Kelly), Dr. Brady Sieber (Danielle), Derek Sieber (Emily), eight great-grandchildren: Hudson, Bode, Willa, Kennedy, Peyton, Arlo, Calvin, and Grant, one sister Virginia Wiggins of Bartow, FL, her daughter-in-law Valerie Nemenz, as well as many nieces and nephews.

A special “thanks” goes out to the staff at St. Mary’s at Asbury Ridge for the loving care they provided mom over the past five and a half years.

Friends may call at the Duskas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd., on Friday, May 16, 2025 from 3 pm until 6 pm and are invited there on Saturday, May 17, 2025 for the Funeral Service at 10 am. Interment Laurel Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
