Obituary of John L. Scott, Sr.

John L. Scott, Sr. John L. Scott, Sr., age 84, of Erie, passed away on Monday, June 2, 2025. He was a graduate of Strong Vincent H.S. He served in the US Navy earning the rank of E4 ATNE3 and was a member of the Navy Crew team. John retired as the shipping clerk at Reed Mfg. He shared his love for aerial photography with his father, Bus. He was a 50-year member of the YMCA, Wesleyville American Legion, and the Sportsman’s Club. He was preceded in death by his parents, W. Craig “Bus” and Eleanor Smith Scott, his wife Carol J. Clinger Scott, his twin brother Richard, his sister Cynthia Urban, and his son-in-law Ronald Fox. He is survived by one daughter, Kimberly, two sons; John L., Jr. (Pamela Sallot), Steven G. (Amy Post), seven grandchildren: Daniel, Dave, Kriste, Ashley (Matt), John III (Stephanie), Cameran, and Sarah (Damian), four great grandchildren, one brother Robert (Traverse City, MI), and sisters-in-law: Phyllis Barto, Lorraine Clinger, Sandee, Linda (Norman, OK), and beloved nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Friday, June 13, 2025 from 3 pm until 7 pm and are invited there on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at 10 am for the Funeral Service conducted by the Rev. Constance Burnett. Interment Laurel Hill Cemetery.
