Rodney “Rod” E. Coburn, Sr.

Rodney “Rod” E. Coburn, Sr., age 82, of McKean, PA, passed away on Saturday, May 31, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Bradford, PA on October 9, 1942, the son of the late Thomas A. and Cathryn L. Hanold Coburn, Sr.

Rod retired from the St. Francis Ushers Club as the manager.

He was a F&AM member of the Oasis Lodge #416, Edinboro Chapter and retired from the McKean Hose Co. after serving more than 40 years.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, cutting wood, his Masonic Lodge, and was an avid Erie Otters fan rarely missing a game.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers; Thomas A. Coburn, Jr. and Richard M. Coburn.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Betsy Stiff Coburn, his children; Rodney E. Coburn, Jr. (Robin) of Millcreek Twp. and Rhonda M. Coburn of Erie, two grandchildren; Rachel E. and Sarah M. Coburn, one sister-in-law Donna Coburn, and many nieces and nephews.

Private services were held at the convenience of the family by the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the McKean Hose Co., 5011 School Street, McKean, PA 16426.
