Joyce Elaine Torrance DaValle

Joyce Elaine DaValle, age 89, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 7, 2025 after a brief illness at her residence at The Regency at Southshore, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Erie, PA on January 25, 1936, the daughter of the late Herbert and Eleanor Moore Torrance.

Joyce was employed at Battersby Nursing Home as a nurse’s aide. She was a member of Our Lady of Peace R.C. Church and a long-time member of the St. George Bocce League.

She enjoyed gardening, bowling, reading, crafts, and enjoying time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children: James A. DaValle (Judy), Kimberly M. Figurski (William), Debra A. Weindorf (Charles), Lisa M. Fetterman (Les), 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James DaValle, two brothers; Herbert Torrance, Jr., Thomas Torrance, one daughter-in-law Mina DaValle, and one grandson William James Figurski.

Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Sunday, August 10, 2025 from 2 pm until 5 pm and are invited to the Funeral Service on Monday, August 11, 2025 at Our Lady of Peace R.C. Church, 2401 West 38th Street, Erie, PA 16506 at 10 am officiated by the Rev. Richard Toohey.

Interment will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
