James R. Szymanowicz

James R. Szymanowicz, age 81, of Millcreek Twp., passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at his residence. He was born on April 6, 1944, in Pittsburgh, PA, the son of the late Stanley S. and Helen Spiesman Szymanowicz. He proudly served in the US Navy on the USS Saratoga.

He was employed at and retired from the US Postal Service.

He was a member of the Siebenbuerger Club, enjoyed trains, and loved cats to which he owned many.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother Philip “Skip” Szymanowicz.

He is survived by his beloved wife Marsha L. Roesch Szymanowicz, his children; Ashley Stutz (Billy), Jordan Gloekler (Morgan), Christopher Gloekler, and one brother Charles Szymanowicz (Annie).

Friends are invited to a Funeral Service at St. Julia R.C. Church, 638 Roslyn Ave., Erie, PA 16505, on Saturday, December 6, 2025 at 1 pm. Interment Calvary Cemetery. All arrangements were handled by the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd., Erie, PA 16506.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Orphan Angels Cat Sanctuary, 5439 West Lake Road, Erie, PA 16505.
