David Thomas Skibicki
David Thomas Skibicki, age 78, of Millcreek Twp., passed away peacefully with his family by his side at his residence on Tuesday, December 23, 2025. He was born in Erie on July 12, 1947, the son of the late Walter and Betty F. Thomas Skibicki.
He received his draft notice immediately after his high school graduation and enlisted in the Marine Corps, stationed at Camp Le Jeune. Dave was a member of both the American Legion and the VFW.
Dave worked at various manufacturing companies throughout his life as a machinist, welder, and was focused on Safety in the Workplace.
He retired when IP closed its operations in Erie.
He was the Union Rep. and helped to establish the Erie Office of Iron Workers.
His hobbies, prior to his back injuries, were fishing. hunting, boating, art-work, photography, and woodworking.
Later on he was a stay- at home dad to support his wife’s continuing education.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Veronica “Ronnie” Janowski Skibicki, his son Jamie Skibicki, his sister Linda (Skibicki) Roloff (Mark), and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 from 4 pm until 7 pm. Private interment.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the VNA Hospice, 2253 West Grandview Blvd., Erie, PA 16506.
