Maria Arminda “Minda” “Abuela” Morales

Maria Arminda “Minda” “Abuela” Morales, age 87, of Millcreek, passed away Thursday, January 15, 2026. She was born in Utuado, Puerto Rico on November 3, 1938, daughter of the late Carlos Rivera and Maria Joaquina Santiago.

Maria was a devoted housewife who found joy in gardening, preparing pasteles, playing dominoes, and making up church hymns.

Maria is survived by three children, Iris Morales, Marysol Ledbetter (Lamar) and Larry Morales (Deanna); two brothers, Heriberto Rivera and Carlos Rivera; five grandchildren, Jessica Enid Velez, Erica Maria Velez, Elisha James Velez, Jonathan Lee Morales and Ciara Lynn Craig; and one great-grandson, Lucas James Morales. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Serafin Morales.

Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Road, on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 from 11 am until the time of the Funeral Service there at 1 pm, conducted by Pastor Ruben Claudio.
