Jay V. Moehler Obituary

Jay V. Moehler

Jay V. Moehler, 56, lifelong resident of the Millcreek area, passed into the arms of his loving Savior, after a swift battle with stomach cancer on Sunday February 8, 2026. Jay was the beloved son of Linda Snyder, born to her on March 27,1969.

Jay embodied “the Joy of the Lord is My Strength.” Known for his many interests and unwavering presence, he made everyone feel like a best friend. His ever-present smile reflected a heavenly radiance, always compelling and filled with love.

Whether in youth riding his bike, or more recently a riding horse, hiking, bowling, or watching hockey with his friends, you would find that signature smile on his face. He loved his Friendship Ministries, a group class sharing the love of the Lord with the special needs community. On Sunday morning you would find him worshiping at FlightPath Fellowship Church. His day to day life was lived and celebrated with his group home run by L’Arche Erie Inc. When he was well enough he had worked at the Barber National Institution with their day workers program. Wherever he went his zest for life, love for family, friends, and most importantly the Lord, shown through.

Jay is survived by his mother Linda Snyder, very dear Aunt Vicki (Patrick) Costello, and many close friends. He was predeceased by his beloved Aunt Susan Alvord.

Family and friends are invited to a viewing at 2:30 PM on Saturday February 14, 2026 at FlightPath Fellowship 4749 McMillen Dr., Erie, PA 16505, immediately followed by the funeral service at 3:30 PM.
