George L. Shoemaker
George L. Shoemaker, age 72, of Fairview, passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2026.
George proudly served his country in the US Army, a chapter of his life he carried with quiet pride. He was a lifelong resident of Fairview and will be remembered for his love of family, his simple joys, and the time he cherished with those closest to him.
George had a fondness for garage sales and the thrill of finding hidden treasures, but nothing meant more to him than spending time with the love of his life, Sharon. Sharon preceded him in death on September 7, 2015 and George carried her memory with him every day.
He is survived by his children; Robert Shoemaker (Lisa), Bonnie Smith, his sister Karen Yeaney, his brothers; Walter Bartlett (Sandy), Richard Shoemaker (Laurie), Jimmy Shoemaker (Catherine), his beloved grandchildren: Austin Shoemaker, Ethan, Madison, and Maverick Shoemaker, Levi Lefaiver, and his step-son Richard Renaud.
George’s presence, stories, and quiet strength will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His family and friends will hold onto the memories they shared and the lasting mark he left on their lives.
