Georgianna Villa Harrington

Georgianna Harrington, age 88, of Millcreek Twp., passed away on Monday, March 2, 2026, at her residence. She was born in North East, PA, on July 4, 1937, the daughter of the late Charles and Thelma Gibbs Villa.

She was a graduate of N.E. High School, Spencer Hospital of Nursing, and PA Anesthesia School.

She served in the US Army Nurse Corp from Sept, 1958 through Feb., 1963 as a 2nd lieutenant serving at Ft. Benning, GA, Germany, and Walter Reed Hospital.

She was employed at the Erie Osteopathic Hospital where she was the OR Supervisor and Hamot Medical Center where she was the Assistant Director of Materials Management.

She enjoyed traveling especially to Broadway Shows and the Erie Playhouse.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her spouse Sara Mapstone, one sister Glendora Villa, two brothers; James and Charles Villa.

She is survived by one son, James “Joe” Harrington (Charmayne) of NC, three grandchildren: Ashlie and Alexis Harrington, and Jamie LaFuze (Daniel), one sister Mildred Villa Politz, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Friday, March 6, 2026 from 4 pm until 7 pm. Private interment.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Erie Playhouse, 13 West 10th Street, Erie, PA 16501.
