Carol Ann Vorse Obituary

Carol Ann Vorse

Carol Ann Vorse, born March 26, 1942, in Erie, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 28 with her husband by her side.

Carol was the beloved wife and best friend of Charles Vorse, with whom she shared over 65 years of marriage. Their love and devotion to one another was truly one for the record book - rarely was one seen without the other.

She was preceded in death by her son, Eric C. Vorse; her son-in-law; Thomas (Tom) Crawford, her parents, Joseph and Gertrude Welka Gorny, her brothers: Jerome (Jerry), Daniel, and Paul Gorny; her sister-in-law, Barbara Gorny,

Carol is survived by her three daughters: Kathleen Vorse Crawford of Marco Island, Florida, Sandra Vorse (Harry Slack) of Marco Island, Florida; and Karen (Rich) Gajewski of Akron, Ohio.

Carol also leaves behind seven grandchildren: Kasey Crawford Kelly (William 'Trey') (Sarasota), Kirby Crawford (Chicago, IL), and Jason Gajewski (Rachel) (Akron, OH), David, Megan, Sarah, Emily Gajewski, two great- grandchildren, and one sister-in-law, Vivian Gorny.

She is further survived by her sisters-in-law, Beverly Teriberry (Glynn) and Verla Vorse, and many nieces and nephews.

Carol retired from the General McLane School District, where she served as the Cafeteria Mgr./Food Service Mgr. at McKean Elementary School and J.W. Parker Middle School. Generations of students remember Mrs. Vorse as someone who was always ready to lend a helping hand, offer kindness, and make a difference in their day. She will be remembered for her kind heart, her wonderful sense of humor, and her deep love for her family.

Carol also had a special place in her heart for her many beloved Schnauzers and her cherished Cotton de Tulear, KiKi. Carol was a member of St. Francis Xavior Catholic Church, St. Francis Ushers Club, Tri-bro Senior Center, an avid knitter, and contributor to Project Linus Sewing Blankets for Babies Program.

The family would like to thank Lynn (Fox) English for her assistance during the past few years and Interim Hospice
