John Maciak

John Maciak, age 62, died on Friday, June 19, 2026 at UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh due to open heart surgery complications. He was born in Erie, PA on May 15, 1964, son of the late Eugene and Patricia Maciak. He graduated from St. Ann’s Grade School, Tech Memorial High School and Erie County Vo-Tech. He was a tool maker by trade and was employed by Suburban Tool and Die.

John was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to shoot skeet at the Erie Skeet Club. Hunting was his passion especially duck and crow hunting with his son, Nathan.

His favorite baseball team was the Pittsburgh Pirates and shared the love of going to a game in Pittsburgh and watching almost every game with his son, Lucas.

Survivors include his wife, Deborah DeVore Maciak; son, Nathan Maciak and his fiancée, Victoria Berlin and son, Lucas Maciak; grand dog Trooper Maciak; sister and brother-in-law, Christine and Jason Isaacs; brother and sister-in-law, James and Kathy Maciak; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, John and Carol DeVore; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Annette and Richard Chizewick; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jeffrey and Denise DeVore; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Douglas and Shelly DeVore; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Pamela and Thomas Kuna; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Linda and Thomas Lewis; and many nieces and nephews, and great- nieces and nephews and cousins.

Special thanks to Ashley Rout, Dr. Ryan Maciak and Victoria Berlin for helping the family understand and navigate John’s illness both here in Erie and Pittsburgh. Also, special thanks to all the prayer warriors out there that came together this past week to pray for him. Finally, thanks to all of John’s coworkers at Suburban Tool, all of his closest friends that offered support during this very difficult time.

Friends and family are invited to call at Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Road, Erie PA 16506 on Thursday, June 25th, from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm and are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Peace Church 2401 West 38th Street, Erie PA 16506 on Friday, June 26th, at 10 am, officiated by Rev.
