James Theodore Lynch, Sr.

James T. Lynch, Sr. passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2026. He was born on July 3, 1965, in Erie, the son of the late Thomas F. and Gladys E. Rosenthal Lynch. He was employed at PHB Machining for 36 years and Dollar General for 2 ½ years.

He was a member of the United Steel Workers Union.

James spent many years coaching football for Bay City Youth Football and loved watching Penn State college football, the Pittsburgh Steelers, and the Pittsburgh Penguins.

He is survived by his wife, Suzanne Petti, his children: Kerria Gorton (children: Keeranna Gorton, MacDavius Moore, MacDarius Moore, Daneris Moore), James Lynch (wife Judith and children Genevieve Serene, Elijah Lynch, Delani Lynch, Cashel Lynch, and Ophelia Lynch, Sabrina Montgomery (husband Jordan and children Keagan Montgomery, Quincey Montgomery, Carter Montgomery), and Maija Bays.

Also surviving are his step-children; Erin Scully (husband Brian and children Antonio Frontino, Vayda Frontino, and Nico Petti, one step-great grandson Alijah Stockhausen, his sisters: Faith Miller (Hank), Patti Ross (Scott), and his brothers; Thomas and Michael Lynch, and many nieces and nephews.

Friends and family are invited to a Memorial gathering on Sunday, July 12, 2026 from 2 pm until 5 pm at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd., Erie, PA 16506.
