Elizabeth “Betty” A. Eaton Wallis

Elizabeth “Betty” A. Eaton Wallis, age 97, of Erie, passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2026 at LECOM Nursing and Rehabilitation.

She was born in Erie on July 13, 1929, the daughter of the late Clyde B. and Katherine R. Eaton.

Betty was a 1946 graduate of Strong Vincent H.S. She married her husband, John F. Wallis on June 4th, 1949. They made their home in Erie and she had various jobs in retail until she became a fulltime homemaker when she had children. During her life, Betty had been a member of Christ United Methodist Church, the McKean Ushers Club, the O.E.S. #322 and the General Electric Erie Retirees (GEER) group where she and John enjoyed taking many trips with their group of friends.

Betty also enjoyed knitting and sewing for her daughters when they were young, golfing and reading a good book.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John F. Wallis, who passed away in 2006, her brother, Larry H. Eaton, her sister, Phyllis E. Willard and her grandson, Derek J. Heathcote.

She is lovingly remembered by her four daughters: Velma Williams (Frank) of Erie, Sue Stewart (Stu) of Titusville, FL, Edie Wallis of Erie and Lori Myers (Jim) of Broomfield, CO.

She is also survived by 5 grandchildren: Jennifer Flavell (Adam) of Wexford, PA, Keith Rekitt of Erie, Kevin Rekitt of Erie, Matt Hayes of Murray, KY and Kelly Hayes (Adam Mitchell) of Lakewood, CO. Also 2 great grandchildren: Adam D. Flavell of Wexford, PA and Brooks A. Mitchell of Lakewood, CO.

Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd, on Wednesday, July 29th 2026 from 3 pm until 7 pm with the service immediately following. Private interment.
