Ann Kennedy


Ann Kennedy, age 80, of Millcreek Twp., died Sunday, March 15, 2009 at St. Vincent Health Center. She was born in Erie on January 12, 1929, the daughter of the late, Robert and Evelyn Holland Zimmerman.


Mrs. Kennedy was a graduate of Strong Vincent High School Class, of 1946, and served in the US Army. Mrs. Kennedy was an Assistant Manager for the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board for eleven years until her retirement in 1982. She was a member of the Lakewood United Methodist Church, Koinonia of Erie County, Manchester Presbyterian Lodge Auxiliary, Hamot Aid Society, and the Elks Club Auxiliary. She was an avid golfer, enjoyed painting, and playing cards with her friends.


She was preceded in death by her husband, William A. Kennedy, who died in 2007, three sisters: Dorothy, Lorraine, and Edith and a brother Leon Robert Zimmerman.


Ann is survived by one daughter, Kimberly Kennedy of Millcreek, three sons: Michael Kennedy, of Erie, Mark Kennedy (Beverly) of Pittsburgh, and the Rev. Thomas Kennedy (Leann), of Saegertown, two sisters, Mary Louise Kader of Erie, Alice Amon (Robert) of Erie. Also surviving are two granddaughters, Samantha and Kiersten Kennedy and two grandsons, Patrick and Joshua Kennedy.


Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Tuesday from 2to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to Lakewood United Methodist Church on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. for the funeral service conducted by the Rev. Andrew Spore. Private interment. Memorial contributions may be made to Lakewood United Methodist Church, 3856 West 10th St., Erie, PA 16505.
