Anita I. Mauk Morse


Anita I. Morse, age 94 of Erie, died Wednesday, November 14, 2007 at Hamot Medical Center. She was born in Franklin, PA on November 5, 1913, the daughter of the late Willis and Edith Shreffler Mauk. She had resided in Erie since 1942. She was a member of the Calvary Evangelical Covenant Church. Anita enjoyed bowling, knitting, crocheting, needlepoint, and playing cards.


Her husband of 47 years, Harold C. Morse, preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Mabel C. Lynn, two brothers: Edwin B. and Willis G. Mauk, one step-daughter, Barbara Hlawati, and two great grandchildren.


Two sons survive her: Donald C. Morse and his wife, Linda S., of Waterford, Ronald H. Morse and his wife, Karen, of Harborcreek Twp., one step-daughter, Marie A. Semple, of Harborcreek, one step-son Richard C. Morse and his wife, Mary Evelyn, of Burke, VA, twelve grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.


Friends may call at The Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Friday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited there on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. for the funeral service conducted by the Rev. Rick Rubeis. Private interment Laurel Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 1645 West 8th St., Erie, PA 16505.
