Joyce C. Smith

Joyce C. Smith, age 74, Erie, died Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at her residence after a lengthy illness. She was born August 30, 1932 in Erie, the daughter of the late William J. and Martha E. Sorensen Jenkinson. Ms. Smith retired from the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue. She was a member of the Retired Public Employees of Pennsylvania A.F.S.C.M.E. Chapter 13. She was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren, and her many friends.

She is survived by three children, Michael S. Smith and his fiance, Judy Meucci of Erie, Sharon L. Smith and her good friend Brad Walburn of Harborcreek, Stacey A. Fratus and her husband Anthony F. of Erie, and one brother, William Jenkinson of Virginia. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Jeffrey M. Smith, Kyle A. and Andrew J. Fioretti, all of Erie, one great-granddaughter Lilyanah Fioretti of Erie, her dearest friend Richard C. Smith of Erie, two good friends Polly Snyder and Lucille "Pee Wee" Ruffo, both of Erie, and a special son, Frank Dachsberger.

A private visitation will be held by the family. Friends are invited to attend a committal service on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at Mary Queen of Peace Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Road. Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
