Obituary of Arthur Sauer

Arthur "Art" G. Sauer, age 82, of Millcreek Twp., passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at the Erie Veteran's Affairs Medical Center. He was born in Perrysville, PA on January 10, 1933, the son of the late Gabriel and Anna Schreyer Sauer. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was employed at GE in West Mifflin, PA, worked at various shops in the Erie area, and with his wife ran two family businesses, Hoffman Camera Shop and American Video. He was a member of the Avalon Masonic Lodge and the Zem Zem Shriners. He enjoyed boating, hunting, fishing, and was an avid Steelers fan. He was preceded in death by two brothers Henry and Edward Sauer. Art is survived by his wife Nancie G. Moon Sauer, one daughter Beverly Ann Sauer of Coraopolis, PA, three step-children: Robert Skiba (Charlotte), Beverly Miller (Larry), and Michael Skiba. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Monday, May 11 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Interment will be held at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2115 West 38th Street, Erie, PA 16508.
