L. Joyce Heinzelman, age 91, of Erie, passed away at her residence on Monday, May 18, 2015. She was born on March 30, 1924 in Erie, the daughter of the late Gordon B. and Nanna Gillette Heinzelman. Joyce was a life-long Erie resident and was employed at Mutual of New York for thirty eight years until her retirement. She was a member of NSDAR (Ft. Lebouf Chapter), XYZ, and a former member of Elmwood Presbyterian Church since age 13. Joyce enjoyed her pet cat, Tina, gardening, swimming, reading, traveling (three fourths of the US), and photography. Joyce is survived by her cousins: Bill Cooper (Connie) of Conneaut, OH, John Cooper of Washington, D.C., Eric Cooper of Cleveland Hts., OH, Mike Christenson of Linesville, PA, Jim Gillette (Jennifer) of Greensburg, PA, Marsha Wallace (Bill) of VA, and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Service there at 12:00 Noon. Interment Evergreen Cemetery, Union City. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to VNA of Erie County, 2253 West Grandview Blvd., Erie, PA 16506.
