Obituary of Helen Heisler

Helen Curtis Heisler, age 83, of Millcreek Twp., went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at Westlake Woods. She was born on December 15, 1932, in Erie, the daughter of the late Ralph and Helen Beck Curtis. After graduating from Academy H.S. she married Robert Loftus Heisler on July 9, 1950 in Ripley, NY. She obtained her degree in Accounting from Mercyhurst College and served as the accountant for the family business of Heisler Plumbing for over forty years. She also worked for PNC Bank and Kauffmans Dept. Store. Helen was an avid reader and enjoyed swimming, traveling (especially to Atlantic City, Las Vegas, and Reno), going to the racetrack, working as a poll worker during elections, teaching Sunday School at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, and being a member of the Hamot Aid Society. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert L. Heisler (April 1, 1996), her grandson Christopher Kuzma (May 16, 2013), and two half- sisters; Susan Birch and Lynette Pierce, and one brother-in-law Bob Levosky. Helen is survived by her daughters Linda Gaerttner (Jerry) of Fairview, Deborah Heisler of Millcreek, one son Robert W. Heisler (Marti) of Waterford, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, one brother Donald Curtis (Peg), one brother-in-law Ray Heisler (Vicki), one sister-in-law Charlene Levosky, nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Sunday, January 17, 2016 from 4 until 8 p.m. and are invited there on Monday at 11:00 a.m. for the Funeral Service conducted by the Rev. Ronald Freebourn. Interment Laurel Hill Cemetery.
