Obituary of Judy Mattson

Judy Freeman Mattson, age 64, of Erie, passed peacefully from this world on March 27, 2016, following an extended illness. Born on June 22, 1951, in Erie, Judy was the daughter of the late Harry J. and Helen Freeman and the granddaughter of the late Harry G. and Florence Freeman, and Frank and Mary Reisinger. Judy was a 1968 graduate of McDowell High School and was a member of Asbury Methodist Church. She loved to listen to music. Judy was married to the late James Mattson, Sr. on April 28, 1972 and he preceded her in death in 2011. Mrs. Mattson is survived by her son, James Mattson, Jr. and a brother, Donald J. Freeman, both of Erie, as well as her beloved Aunt Marjorie Freeman Hummel, of Grove City. She is also survived by her cousins, John, Susan, Deborah, and David Hummel. Although Judy had a difficult life, there were many happy childhood memories, especially Thanksgiving and Christmas at Uncle Buck’s and Aunt Marjorie’s home on Terrace Ave. in Grove City. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, April 11th at 11 a.m. at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home, 4216 Sterrettania Rd. with Chaplain Dennis Chludzinski presiding. A graveside service at Laurel Hill Cemetery will follow.
