Obituary of Marilyn L. Walker

Marilyn L. Lucas Walker, age 72, of Millcreek Twp., passed away Saturday, April 9, 2016 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Erie on November 10, 1943, the daughter of the late Joseph J. and Marie Holtz Lucas, Sr. Marilyn graduated from Villa Maria Academy and Villa Maria College. She was employed at American Sterilizer (AMSCO) and the PA Dept. of Public Welfare as a supervisor. She was past President of the AAUW, past Board President of the Penn State Erie County Cooperative Extension (Penn State Advocate), a member of the Women’s Club of Erie, the Women’s Roundtable, The Erie Torch Club, The Jefferson Education Society, the Presque Isle Audubon, Environment Erie, Scions of Britain (SOBS), the German Cultural Society, the Erie Society of Genealogical Research, and the Erie Historical Society. She was preceded in death by her husband Gary Walker. She is survived by her siblings: Joseph Lucas, Jr. (Diane) of Concord, MA, Philip Lucas (Terri) of Conneaut, OH, Brenda Lucas of Honolulu, HI, Rita George of Napa, CA, Edward Lucas of LA, Jeffrey Lucas (Eva) of Warminster, PA, her children: Christian Baker (Anne) of Peach Tree City, GA, Scott Baker (Christina) of Erie, grandchildren: Susan Baker, Jesse Woodring, Jeffrey Baker, Joshua Baker, Heather Baker, and David Baker. Friends will be received on Friday, April 15, 2016 from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a time of sharing memories at 8:30 p.m. at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Laurel Hill Cemetery, 4523 Love Rd., Erie at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Women’s Club of Erie, Raise the Roof Campaign, 259 West 6th Street, Erie, PA 16502.
