Betty J. Auer Jackson, age 96, went to be in the arms of her Lord and Savior on Friday, August 26, 2016 at Pleasant Ridge Manor. She was born on July 8, 1920 in Erie, the daughter of the late William and Mildred Kilmaier Auer. She had worked a Masons Dept. Store and then worked many years at McDowell H.S. in the cafeteria. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church and enjoyed puzzles, feeding the birds, gardening (flowers), canning, antiques, and watching Lawrence Welk, Jeopardy and the Wheel of Fortune. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard on July 10, 2016, two infant twin sons, one son Richard Jackson, one daughter Betty Ann Smith and several brothers and sisters. She is survived by her daughter Joan M. Martin (Robert) of Lake City, nine grandchildren, many great and great- great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Friday, September 2, 2016 from 4 to 8 p.m. and are invited there on Saturday, September 3, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. for the Funeral Service. Interment Sterrettania Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Erie Regional Cancer Center, 2500 West 12th Street, Erie, PA 16505 or to the Gertrude A. Barber National Institute, 100 Barber Place, Erie, PA 16507.
