Rejoining her late husband, Jae Kyong Yu Nicholls, 81 of Erie passed away on Friday January 13, 2017 at her residence. She was born in Seoul, Korea on April 21, 1935 a daughter of the late Jom Nam and Myong Yil.
Jae immigrated to America in 1959 after marrying her beloved husband William “Bill” Nicholls in the American Embassy in Seoul, Korea. Jae and Bill traveled all over America including California, Washington and Florida, but Erie was always their home. Jae and Bill were married for nearly 60 years and raised three children.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her eldest brother and sister-in-law, Chae H. and Chu C. Yu.
She is survived by her three children, Tonny (Kathie) Nicholls of Erie, Mark (Marcy) Nicholls of Phoenix, AZ and Joyce Williamson of Erie; two grandchildren, Hayden and Tanner Williamson; three siblings, Chae S. (Hyou C.) Yu, Chae I. (Charles) Woods and Chae Song (So Cha) Yu all of Seattle, WA and numerous nieces and nephews.
No calling hours will be observed and burial will take place at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the care of the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home & Crematory Inc. 4216 Sterrettania Rd.
