Ruth J. Schlindwein Brown

 

Ruth J. Schlindwein Brown, age 86, of Millcreek Twp., passed away on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at UPMC-Hamot.  She was born on August 6, 1930, the daughter of the late Robert J. and Ellen Fuller Schlindwein.  Ruth attended the Scotland School in Chambersburg and was employed at Erie Resistor where she met her husband to be. Ruth was the best Mom in the world and was a friend to all she met. She was a member of the Eastern Star; Grand Matron in Olean, NY.  Ruth was a faithful member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ.

Ruth enjoyed puzzles, crafts, reading, and doing cross word puzzles with her husband.  She was preceded in death by her husband Powell A. Brown in 2013, one daughter Susan Brown in 1965, one sister Patricia Densmore and one brother John Ross McCleaster. 

She is survived by three daughters: Alice E. Niebauer (Paul) of Millcreek, Cheryl E. Adams (Tom Skarupski) of Millcreek, Patricia M. Morris of Milwaukee, WI, two sons; Powell A. Brown, Jr. (fiancé Deb Amorosi) of Millcreek, Robert L. Brown (Pam) of Clearwater, FL, grandchildren: Sam, Matt, and Adam Niebauer, Heather Szymczak, Andrea Hermann, Rachel Ganzer, Powell Brown,III, George Brown, Chevon Gruelich, Sabrina Parsons, Ken Morris, Jr., Michele Morris, and Josh Morris, seventeen great-grandchildren and one on the way, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Thursday, July 13, 2017 from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited there on Friday, July 14, 2017 for the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m.  Interment Laurel Hill Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 1024 Peach Street, Erie, PA 16501.
