Douglas H. Green age 90, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather passed away on March 3, 2023, surrounded by his family. Doug was born on July 10, 1932 in Northville, Michigan to the late Anna and Howard Green. He graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in chemistry and from Gannon University with an MBA. At Michigan State is where he met the love of his life Rosanne Pulick, whom he married on October 30, 1954. Doug began his career at Eastman Kodak Company in Rochester, New York. Shortly thereafter, he and his best friend enlisted in the Army, serving for 2 years. Following his service, he worked for Ford and Wyandotte Chemical. Doug moved to Erie in November 1969 to accept a job with LORD Corporation, where he worked for 28 years until his retirement in January 1998. He worked his way through the ranks at LORD to become the Manager of Marketing Services. Doug was an active parishioner, chorus member and Eucharistic Minister at St. George church for 53 years. He volunteered his time to; Asbury Woods, Emmaus Soup Kitchen and The Second Harvest Food Bank. For many years he was involved with the Lake Erie Sound Barbershop Quartet where he sang and served many officer positions. He was a 3rd degree member for the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed watching sports, especially his Detroit teams (Tigers, Lions and Red Wings) and he became a staunch fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Doug will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He was a fun-loving family-man that focused on enjoying life. He loved family functions, listening to classical and big band music from his generation (Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby) and his meals. He was a foodie at heart and was the family guide to restaurants in Erie with Oakwood Café being his favorite spot. One of his favorite pleasures was his weekly breakfast and lunch get together with his closest friends. He was his children and grandchildren’s biggest fan, supporting and cheering them on in all aspects of their lives. He had a heart of gold, never had a bad word to say about anyone and had a hearty laugh that made you want to laugh with him. He showed compassion and love to everyone he met. Doug has passed through the gates of Heaven! Doug is survived by his loving wife of over 68 years, Rosanne, his children; Douglas Green (Bernadette), Jeff Green, Mark Green (Paulette), Theresa Herbe (Dave) and Kevin Green (Angela), 11 grandchildren; Nicole (Mark) Bentley, Erin Martin, Dr. Alise Green (Dr. Danny Dang), Jackie Green, Jacob Green, Danielle (Andy) Bemis, David (Emily) Herbe, Christine (Jordan) Jaskiewicz, Alyssa Herbe (fiancé Matt Tobin), Zack (Tessa) Green and Josh Green, and 8 great grandchildren.
